Rising to five feet five inches, this ceramic floor sculpture presents a complete whale vertebra from the North Sea and North Carolina in vertical prominence, supported by two Pleistocene whale discs. A Madagascan ammonite is embedded within the ceramic upper structure, while the hand-polished clay base achieves a wood-like finish. By integrating genuine paleontological materials with sculptural ceramics, the work establishes a compelling intersection between ancient geological history and contemporary artistic practice.
