Discover the wonders of this ceramic Mammoth Rib Boat sculpture. Hand sculpted with stoneware clay, the boat was inspired by a mammoth rib in the fossil collection of Susan Livingston. Livingston, whose early love of science drew her to learning about and collecting fossils, incorporates remnants from the Pleistocene and Cenozoic era’s. This boat highlights an iridescent ammonite at the stern, Madagascan Cretaceous poop at the bow and it all sits atop a 30 million year old Florida mammoth rib. This magnificent sculpture blends eras of time seamlessly.
