Geometry in Nature

I have never been about math and certainly not when considering nature. I look at nature as fluid and wild.  Its colors, shapes and textures are perfect art.  That perspective was challenged when someone introduced me to fractals and the Golden Ratio.  I didn’t realize that geometry was a blueprint that gave nature survival skills for maximum sun absorption, seed counts or structural strength. Though I may still prefer to think that nature is wild and irrational and subject to artistic interpretation, it’s now hard to look at a fern, sea shells or the waves in the ocean and not see organized patterns.
