This Hammer Carved Vase was hand thrown on the potter's wheel, gently polished with a river stone and saggar fired. The soft blushes of color come from the vapor fume in the natural saggar materials. Copper yields pinks and burgundy white iron yields browns and yellows. Ceramicist Brenda McMahon has developed her award winning technique over her 30 year career.
