A very powerful but not intentional influence is the aesthetics of Japan. I lived and worked in Japan for 1 1/2 years and later worked in a job that took me back to that beautiful country throughout the '80s. Although I am not a minimalist, the concept of "wabi sabi" or the essence of imperfect beauty and appreciating the beauty woven by time, made a permanent impression and, I hope, is present in my art.
