Brenda McMahon - Inspirations from France
Brenda spent six weeks in Vallauris, France in the summer of 2024 doing a ceramic residency. The purpose of a residency is to explore ideas that have been sitting dormant, waiting for nourishment to take form.
Vallauris is where Pablo Picasso, in the 1950’s, set up a ceramic studio and lived and worked for nine years. It is a famous ceramic European town, the perfect bed for the seeds of inspiration to be sown.
This new sculptural work, ‘The Seeds of Inspiration’ is from Brenda’s summer creative explorations. It is a beginning, not an end. Over time the seeds will grow. The alchemy of art will transform as it reveals what the artist’s mind sees and feels.
