About Brenda McMahon

 

Hi.  I'm Brenda and I love what I do!  I feel blessed to be supported by my collectors for more than 3 decades.  

I grew up in the New York City area on the beach and so nature and the rhythm of earth are rooted in me from an early age.  As a young person, I always loved to build & write, but creating came to me a bit later in life.  After 10 years as a broadcast journalist, I found my true passion in a 10-week pottery class.  That was over 3 decades ago and it has been a hard working and joyous journey to now.

I make work that I hope is beautiful and captivating.  I strive to delight you, while tapping into your quieter, more contemplative side.  I am a yogi, an artist, a teacher and a dog owner. My many loves make for a blessed life. The sense of joy I feel with all of those is imbued in every ceramic art piece I create.

In 2019 I opened Brenda McMahon Art Gallery in the south St. Petersburg community of Gulfport, Florida, where I represent 16 artists, including myself. We are open 5 days a week (7 in season) and late nights for monthly art walks. It's a beautiful old Florida town in the historic arts district, I encourage you to visit!
