La Lavande du Luberon

France’s Luberon region is famous for its lavender fields. I planned our month-long trip to (hopefully) coincide with the peak blooming season. Many of the lower elevation fields had already been cut, but fields at higher elevations still bloomed. This particular field struck me with its lone tree standing sentinel at the end of the rows. I later learned it is one of the most photographed fields in the region. This acrylic painting was done using the reference photos I took onsite and painted at home in my studio.
